2 Weeks and Counting: The Aftermath
I hope all of you are as excited as I am. With less than 2 weeks left to prepare and people all over Boise scrambling to line up their ducks, it is hard not to get caught up in it all! There are some sick trophies to be won and some great driving to see. It is easy to catch the drift bug.
We need to get as many drivers as possible to come out and put on a show. Saturday night is usually a normal race night for the circle track guys and fans. This is our chance to have the track on a Saturday and show the fans whats up.
If any of you guys can throw in a set of door bars then we can have some tandem runs too. The Judged runs will all be solo though.
Now here is a gratuitously self promoting picture of me roasting the shit.
More videos are starting to surface.
Big thanks to Daneb61 for the video and for almost killing him with my car at the end of the video.

Competition:
Since drifting is still in its infant stages here in Idaho, there are not many drivers with roll bars or cages with door bars. Because of this we can not have an all out tandem competition. This competition will be structured the same as many amateur competitions around the country. It will be judged by individual runs. So, after the practice session, each driver will run 2 heats. Each heat will consist of 2 back to back “laps”. After everyone runs 2 heats, we will go through our notes and our “scores” to narrow the field down to the top 16 drivers. The top 16 drivers will repeat this same process and then we will take it down to the top 8. From the top 8 down to 4 and then we will choose the winners. The top 3 will win prizes. Depending on time we will try to keep the same 2 heat structure through the whole bracket.
Judging and Judges:
David Titus along with Dan Hillsberry will be judging. We are working on getting one guest judge out of state, with a good amount of experience under their belt.

Up and coming.
Well folks this is Dan Hillsberry, Boisedrift Instructor, Judge, and Event official. This is my first post for Boisedrift and I thought I would talk about up and coming cars. This year has brought tons of new opportunity for drifting and seems to have lit a motivational fire under peoples’ butts. Now that there are drift events and deadlines to shoot for it seems that many projects are on a fast track to completion. I am very excited to see the huge jump in the caliber of Idaho cars from this to next year.
Keep at it everyone and lets see those projects get done!!
Here is David Honey’s Black Top SR V-Mount AE86. The car has been down for years but is about to go in a big way!!!
Black smoke and everything!
Well I think I just made up my mind what I am going to do once the e36 is gone. Rocking a 20 year old turbo deisel Mercedes is just past what anyone will expect to see on the track and drifting. Here is what I mean.
