Off season: How to survive Winter

Well here we are in the midst of Idaho’s car guy off season.  If you have the time and money then this state has a plethora of winter wildness to offer.  For some people the highlight of the year is winter with it’s snow sports, but for others the cold weather activities are merely an expensive pain killer to help pass the dark end of earth’s orbit.  However you look at it, Old man winter stops car sports nearly completely.

With the throttle-hammering halted it seems there is no way to get around it.  We can accept it and start throwing snowballs.  I say think outside the state and go to a place far less frigid.  Road trip to Willow Springs Raceway.  Winter in So-Cal means weather more like Idaho’s late spring weather.  It also means days filled with motorsports!  Your car will love the dense cool sea level air and you will love the Motorsports Mecca that is Willow.   This is with out a doubt one of the best ways to get through Idaho’s off season.

This Friday the 17th I plan to do exactly this.  I will be saying goodbye to the inversion and hello to the open road.  Some 800 miles later I will be in car guy paradise.  I will watch, drive, slide, photo, film, shmelter, roast, and party.  You can rest assured that there will be tons of pics and video for you when we return because 2 other boisedrift staff members are going to be there too.  We will be working together with the R.A.D. Experience crew to get tons of angles, multi-car, multi-camera, etc…  This test and film day is going on at the same time as the Redline Time attack, Justdrift’s Toydrift charity event, and a driver’s school.  I promise you I wont be thinking about Jack Frost or Captain Inversion Face at all.

Stay tuned for remote updates as the weekend passes.
